Three cafés, one feeling: Kiez Kaffee Kraft now at MOA WOOD

With its new location in Moabit, Kiez Kaffee Kraft continues to grow – while staying true to itself: urban, with clear design, and truly great coffee. At MOA WOOD, the KRAFT team brings its familiar neighborhood vibe to a new part of the city. Steffen Prüfer, one of the minds behind Kiez Kaffee Kraft, shares what makes the new spot so special.

Introduction
1. How did this decision come about, and what goals are you pursuing with the new location?
After the success of our first two locations – especially in the ANH wooden pavilion in Pankow – it was clear to us: we want to continue growing without losing our roots. The decision for MOA WOOD was an easy one, because the site not only stands out architecturally but also perfectly matches our vision of an urban, open café. Our goal is to create a place in Moabit that stands for excellent coffee, clean design, and a strong sense of community.

2. What makes the new Kiez Kaffee Kraft café stand out? What kind of atmosphere and experience do you want to offer your guests?
As with our other locations, we’re focusing at MOA WOOD on an open, welcoming atmosphere – defined by clean interior design, friendly service, and high-quality coffee craftsmanship. We want our guests to feel as if they’re in their neighborhood’s living room – only with really great coffee. The new location combines our recognizable style with new elements tailored specifically to the Stephankiez neighborhood.

3. What attracted you to this location in particular?
The property at Stendaler Straße 1 immediately convinced us: modern architecture, a sustainable concept, and a dynamic environment that is still in the making. For us, it’s important to become part of a neighborhood early on, while it’s developing – and to help shape that process. Our collaboration with ANH has already proven itself, so MOA WOOD was a logical next step for us.

4. How does Kiez Kaffee Kraft reflect itself stylistically and conceptually in this setting? Are there special ideas or design elements that define this location?
Our design approach is clear but never generic – every Kiez Kaffee Kraft is unique. At MOA WOOD, we’ve drawn on the architectural lines of the building and combined them with warm materials and individual details. To achieve this, we teamed up with experienced architects and craftsmen who have already supported us with other projects, like the Kiez Kaffee Kraft in Prenzlauer Berg. Conceptually, we’re staying true to what defines us: outstanding coffee quality, handcrafted preparation, and an atmosphere that creates space for encounters – true to our motto “Good Vibe – Good People.”

Offering & Community
5. Which products and specialties are you focusing on? Are there highlights in your coffee, food, or homemade offerings?
Our heart beats for coffee – precisely prepared, with high-quality beans from local roasteries. In the summer, we serve all drinks iced, and depending on the season, we create unique specials – from an iced strawberry-coconut matcha to a Biscoff crumble latte in autumn, there’s something for everyone! Alongside that, we offer homemade cakes, tasty sandwiches, and a small but carefully selected range of vegetarian and vegan options. Our claim: not an overloaded menu, but quality in every detail.

6. Do you have plans for activities or collaborations to connect with the local community? Special events, themed evenings, or specials you’d like to host?
Absolutely. We see ourselves as part of the neighborhood – not just as a provider, but as a co-creator. We’re planning coffee workshops and small exhibitions by local artists, among other things. Collaborations with neighbors and local initiatives are also important to us – we’re open to ideas and excited about the exchange.
